Project 4

 

This is what I have so far. I am still editing and working with it in LR and photoshop to make sure that I’m happy with the final image.

So far I am very happy with how it looks compared to my original vision.

Okay , so here’s how it all turned out . i decided to to a dipdtct of these two images.  

Pre LR/PS modifications

Here are some set up shots for final.  To create the portal/ transparent wall thing my brother helped me tape saran wrap to the walls to go across the camera. Hope i can be handy enough in photoshop so that it end up turning out okay . I stripped the sheets off of my bed and put the mattress on the floor to give it a bit more of a dramatic emotional element to it .  The idea was to make it look sort – of bare and empty.  So far i liked how my positioning of the lighting turned out. 

New Inspiration for final

So i decided to scrap my original zombie idea. Due to time, budget, professional help etc. Anyways, heres my new idea. I got it from Donnie Darko.  For anyone who is not familiar with the film . Donnie Darko is about a guy who has a problem with sleepwalking. However when Donnie sleepwalks , he happens to travel through time.  This is a screenshot taken when Donnie discovers some sort of portal thing in his bathroom. 

In my project i wanted to use this concept to illustrate some sort of threshold that is crossed when entering to a dreamworld . 

Final Photo – From Vase to Eggs to Cat

With a little shopping today, I finally found my last piece of material to complete my photo. After shooting some test photos this weekend, I came up with the idea to make eyes out of the eggs (I’m glad someone  that today). I already had the ears and smoke in place, but I wanted a fork or spatula to create a mouth and whiskers for a cat. So, here is my final image. It’s a photo of eggs (made from a glass vase) to create another image of a cat face. I’m very satisfied with my final image, and I stretched my mind and creativity on multiple levels.

After a long process of finding glass, I scrapped my original idea and concentrated on the simplicity of a powerful image. I can’t decide to add a fork or leave the image as is. What do you think?
